How can you tell if your employees are truly happy at work? Obviously most would answer this with “ask them”, however, any employee with half a brain and a strong desire to have a job the next day will most definitely always answer “yes I am” whether they are or not. So below are some question’s that you can get the right answer from them in a round about way.

  • If you won the lottery and became rich, what would you do, how would your life change?
  • What can we do as your employer to help you reach both your personal and professional goals?
  • What would you say is the companies greatest strength and also what do we need to improve?
  • How do you think our clients would describe us as a company?
  • What could our company do to give employees more recognition?
  • If you had the chance to learn a new skill or trade what would it be?

  • Of course, you start asking employees
    how they feel about work,
how the work experience could be improved,
how you can help them reach their professional goals,
when you figure out what kind of recognition they like,
when you actually start listening to employees…

you will be screwing up your observational data.
You are going to have the problematic effect…
they are going to be happier at work.
