In a recent article by Scott Belsky, he argues that there is too many ideas floating around in business today but without very much action to follow them. It is one thing to brainstorm all day and come up with 100 new ideas on increasing your productivity, but without putting them into action…they do you no good.

As leaders of small businesses and growing teams, we must challenge ourselves to boost not only our productivity but the general productivity of our teams.

Belsky has come up with some tips on actually putting into action your ideas and thus boosting your productivity for the new 2009 year.

  • Keep actions separate from email
  • A good design is great for productivity
  • Natural selection
  • No more email chains…make it a real discussion
  • Actions are only delegated when they are accepted by others around you in the business.

And when you get to the end of the day, if all else fail’s, take ACTION ACTION ACTION! Spend less time on storage, communication, filing, and brainstorming and more time on actually putting your plans into action and moving forward.

Do you have action ideas for boosting business productivity?
