What You Should Tell Your Employees

Many business owners in the down economy are finding themselves not knowing what to tell their employees as far as the perk’s, benefits, raises, jobs in general, etc. Below is a short list compounded from Guy Kawasaki’s list on what you should be telling your employees…the truth!

The market budget is now $0.00 and we need to figure out another way to market our product. We need to make a product/service where our $0.00 budget wont be such a large problem for us.

The dental plan is now “floss”, the medical plan is now “eat fresh fruit”, our cafeteria is now “quizno’s” and our health plan is now considered to be “walk up a flight of stair’s”. These are tough time’s that call for tough changes in the perk’s end of the company, and lying to your employees is not going to do anyone any good.

Cash flow, not profitability, is the top priority.” I’m not suggesting that hold a fire sale and dump assets for cash, but paper profitability doesn’t pay the bills. Cash is king, queen, and jack these days.
