Should a Small Business Blog?

Many small business owners ask themselves either “what is a blog”, or “do I need to blog about my business”. A blog is just writing updates about your business on an online site. To determine if you should start a blog about your business is pretty simple.

Make a list of questions that you are asked everyday regarding your company, do this for a full two weeks. If at the end of those two weeks you have a really long list of questions that you can answer, then it is a good time to start a blog.

When a customer asks you something about your business, you can take that opportunity to encourage them to check out your website with answers and questions on it.

You can also print these out and hand them out as pamphlets, you can put them on CD as PDF files or you can even put them all together as a speech that you are going to do on your business.

The one BIG secret to make it work: Focus on what customers want to know, not what you want to tell them about your business.

How has blogging benefited your small business?
