In a recent article written by Rich Sloan, ideas were presented on what you can do to start your own business if you have been laid off or fired from a job and you’ve had enough!

Make sure your business idea is something your passionate about, it’s bound to go over smoother. Take stock on the skills and resources that you have available to start your business, make sure your prepared for this new venture.

Commit to your concept by creating a small and clear statement about what your plans are in this new business, it’s okay if later it morphes into something else. Go on search engines such as google and go crazy collecting information regarding your idea. The sooner you become the authority in your idea, the sooner your strategy will take off for you.

Take your idea out for a test drive on people around you, and not only on people that know you well. Strangers will tell you the truth wether your going to want to hear it or not.

If you take these quick steps, you’ll quickly replace confusion, fear, desperation or any of those kinds of negative thoughts with information, action items and the beginning of a path forward to get your own business off the ground.
