This is interesting. Could it work for your business?

Don’t be surprised if you see Col. Sanders out filling potholes. In an unusual cause-marketing push, KFC is tackling the pothole problem in Louisville, Ky. in exchange for stamping the fresh pavement with “Re-freshed by KFC,” a chalky stencil likely to fade away in the next downpour.

Would other companies pay for this type of service? Definitely. There’s a real bizop here.

This would be great if it wasn’t just a publicity stunt. Will KFC be there next year and the year after that filling potholes? And what about potholes in ‘bad’ neighborhoods? Will they get KFCed?

If KFC does this ‘service’ for more than a year and at other locations, I’ll eat my words…extra crispy!

Countless times I’ve heard the local news talk about the cost of filling potholes around the state, and our budget. If KFC wanted to fill a few of our potholes around here, I don’t think anyone would argue. Publicity stunt or not, a community somewhere is getting a little help. That’s a great way to give back to the people who buy from them.

Imagining a real-word scenario of pavements full of ads on top of everything else going on out there on our roadways and in our cars to distract our attention from the task of driving leads me to suspect the incidence of accidents would take a big jump in the wake of readable patches appearing all over the street.
