Biz Poll Results: Twitter?

Monday, we asked readers if they used Twitter in their business? 47 percent said YES they did use Twitter.

Reader Andrew Smyth is a senior at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA. and has been doing web design projects for the past three years.

He explained how he uses Twitter:

I am trying to establish myself as the authority on Kicklight, a very new technology that allows video producers to attach jpg, gif or png files below online videos using Twitter as my main marketing strategy.

I use Twitter to gain exposure for my blog. I am trying to do this by sending out interesting links to blog posts or articles that appeal to entrepreneurs, Twitter users and any of my other listed interests in my Twitter bio.

I also utilize the Retweet function to send out other people’s tweets to my followers and therefore build relationships with people I have retweeted.

An indespensable tool for me is TweetDeck. I can track any Replies to me and also filter through all my friends’ tweets to find useful information.

As my follower numbers grow I will see how effective a marketing tool Twitter is by the number of responses I get from questions or links I tweet.
