A lot of business people tend to over look blogs as a great marketing investment. Think about all the times your personally go to search for something, you type in your keyword and up pops 100’s of related topics so you scroll through until you find something that catches your eye.
Have one of your employees like the secretary for example write 2-4 blogs about your company daily. This enables you to be put in many search engines for when people search for a topic that is related to your business. Say you are a salon, your employee writes blogs about your salon, then every time someone simply types in salon…up you come.
You’ll get great search placement — and priceless credibility. Even better, search links stop when you stop paying. Links to your blog are a permanent promotion. Remember, if it stops when you stop paying, it’s advertising. If it keeps going, it’s word of mouth marketing.

Without a doubt blogging about your business is the most cost effective way of making people aware of your services. Fifteen minutes a day is all you need to get the word out about what you do to potentially any person in the world. Where else can you advertise to the world for virtually zero cost?

I agree that a blog is a great investment, but it’s a long term one, with older domains now becoming dominant in the top ranking sites. Whois age has a lot to do with it, coupled with excellent unique content this is a definate must for any web marketer.
