I read an article found on Harvard Busienss suggesting that younger workers now a day’s are questioning their job security. They see what is going on, but to them it’s out of a text book rather then real life like their parents have seen already at least once. So when they come to you and ask for direction or advice, here’s a few tips on what you can tell them.

First of all, let them know it is no where near being the end of the world like they may think. Sure, there’s tough time’s ahead of them, but it will get better eventually and thing’s will change for the better in their career one day.

Let them know now is not the time to be taking their job lightly, don’t over push your demands, be less demanding at least for now. Save like a maniac, put away as much as you can every pay check. Now is definitely the time to shine…so shine away! Show them you are a valuable asset to the company, go over and beyond what they expect from you.

If you keep your head, you can come out the other side of this storm stronger and in a better position than you think. When the dust settles, and this crisis is in your rear view mirror, you will have more than survived.

How do you think the younger generation will handle this recession?
