Could a Sonic Drive-In roll into Kitsap?
The local franchisee of the popular chain of retro burger joints with skating carhops says he’s looking.
“We have general plans to come over there, but I don’t have any specific real estate at this time,” David Orem of Northwest Drive-Ins said Wednesday from his Eastside office. Northwest is the Sonic franchisee for Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties.
Silverdale, Port Orchard and Bremerton have caught his interest, and maybe Poulsbo, said Orem, who has visited Kitsap twice with his broker to find out more.
“We are looking,” he said.
Orem currently is developing several Sonic drive-ins in Pierce County. One just opened in Puyallup. He plans to open 15 in his five-county franchise area in the next four years.
