If your in business for yourself and your starting to contemplate sending out email newsletters, i’m sure your wondering how you can make newsletter stand out from the rest. I recently read a great article on Word Of Mouth Marketing that was simple but packed full of suggestions.

One great suggestion is not to talk about yourself! Most customers hate it when you throw all kinds of information their way about your company and then call them for a follow up and do nothing but brag about your company and it’s accomplishments. Talk about anything but YOU.

Provide news and interesting information for your customers to read, give them something really funny to look at or read, this will definitely ensure that they pull in other co-workers or friends and family to read your newsletter which of course is the best advertising.

Studies for a plumbing company showed that when they sent out newsletters that had nothing to do with their company other than they sent it out, the response was huge! The customers were flocking in left and right.

What are your thoughts on talking up your company too much?
