Invention: Automatic Dog Washer

By on May 20, 2009 in Inventions

Mail Online: “When a dog comes home from a walk filthy and smelling of something unmentionable, the temptation sometimes is to throw the darn thing in the washing machine. Well, now you can. An entrepreneur has come up with the Dog-O-Matic, a mini car-wash that transforms pets from filthy to fluffy in half an hour.”

Another Idea: How to Start a In-Home Mail Business

    That is so wrong.

Isn’t there an agency to protect animals from this kind of stuff? Seriously though I don’t think I could stomach putting my smelly dog in this machine. It just doesn’t feel right.

Though it looks like the animals aren’t enjoying the shower, that is almost what my children look like when I put them in the shower.

Unlike the others, I think this is a great idea!

I’m not surprised the animals look unhappy, it’s rare for me to find a pet that enjoys being washed. Anyway, wet cats and dogs tend to look like that after they’ve been put in the bathtub or hosed down outside. The machine just appears to take less effort with the same effect: a clean pet.

I agree with Angela and Dane. I have given my dog and all three cats a bath numerous times both outside and in the tub, and it never fails not only do they shake every time like they are having a stroke or something, but they in the end look like a drownded rat until i dry them off. Almost no pet of any kind enjoys getting a bath. All this machine is basically is an enclosed tub that does the washing for you. it’s not like they are litterally sticking them in a washing machine that is spinning them around in circles and then run them through the tumble dry cycle on low heat. come on people….it’s a bath not a torture chamber.

Now that is cool. I got to get one.

that is about the stupidest thing i have seen yet. putting a cat in it! come on…. spend the money and do it right. how stupid!

As a dog washer I don’t hate this idea. Most dogs fight cry and spin when it’s all done manually not to mention some bite and lots jump up and scratch. When it comes to the drying I think this is a less invasive way to go about it, the high velocity dryers are stronger than the auto one, atleast that’s what it looks like. Dogs hate baths no matter what form they’re in, this is just a easier and maybe even safer way to go about doing it. Although I wouldn’t put a breathing challenged pet in it, like pugs, poms, bulldogs, shih tzus, it’s not good to have air blowing in their faces.
