I find it odd when my impression is that scribed has not been very effective at preventing copyright violations on their site. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/tech_and_web/the_web/article5998918.ece I admit I have not looked into this much so I could be wrong.
To be clear I think authors would be wise to provide more resources online but it is the choice of those who own the copyright not a site like scribd to decide what is to be made available. It would seem to me scribd will have to do a very good job of protecting copyright if they want authors to partner with them.

I agree…what is to stop people from stealing their copyright’s? I think that after all the time and effort these writers put into the book…they should definitely check out the entire site and it’s history before thinking about putting their book on there.
