Niche Auction Sites Could Be Wave Of Future

Philadelphia e-Commerce Examiner:
In eBay’s early days, it was a place where buyers and sellers of collectible items congregated to conduct business. Eventually it grew into the “Sell Everything” site that we see today. The changes that eBay has made over the last couple of years in addition with future changes might very well send collectors to “niche” or “specialty” auction sites to buy and sell items with others who have a common interest. Niche sites can bring collectors of a similar interest together and these collectors can form the basis for a strong community.
There are many different niche sites out there:
• Mommy Auctions. A place where young mothers can gather to exchange tips, socialize and of course, buy and sell new and gently used children’s clothing, toys and othe ritems.
• Chase The Chuck Wagon. Auction site for video game enthusiasts.
• Money Auctionz. Auction site for collectors of coins and other currency.
• eRock. Auction site for music and memorabilia buyers and sellers.

That sounds like a great website for moms. Being a mom over time you find that you have so many items that you don’t need anymore but at the same time don’t want to just give them away for free or throw them away in the garbage but you also can’t hold onto all of them forever either, so i think it’s great to have this mommy auction website, i think it will do awesome thing’s for mom’s.

Hi, just found your article. I’d love for you to check our new service for Moms, a resale site customized for the nice market of children’s wear designer clothing & accessories. We’re not an ‘auction’ site — all merchandise listed is for immediate purchase. In addition to providing the service, we focus on educating Moms on how to “outfit their kids for virtually free” by Buying Right, Caring Right, and Selling Right. Because our site focuses on a narrow niche, we are also able to completely customize the experience to the market — we’re focused on making on-line resale as easy and enjoyable as possible for busy Moms!
We are currently in a Private Beta mode. You may visit the site to request an access code. Public mode is scheduled for mid-July (2009). I hope you’ll check it out — it’s an all new approach to buying and selling on-line.
Thanks!
Suzanne

Hi, I just read your article. Yes I too believe that the way is paved to go other than Ebay with the niche auction site where sellers and buyers of the same mind, in our site’s case dance and music items, can come together and share a sense of online community in and about the things that they are most interested in. We hope that we can achieve our goal to make our auctions a truly rich experience for our members as we and they grow together. Our main concern will always be for our members who can list free enhanced-listed items as much and as often as they like.
