Sesame Street’s Lessons

Is it possible to learn valuable business lessons from Big Bird? As funny and odd as that may sound, it sure is possible. Most of what is found on their shows has gone through an enormous amount of testing, conversation, and more before it is finally aired on TV for all to see, sesame street is not a simple children’s show that most people believe it to be.

Take each of their shows for example, each show is shown to a small group of young children and every time that a child focuses on something other than the show, a note is made and later the segment is tweaked and made more compelling and interesting. The lesson here, test, test and test some more in your business.

Sesame street is built around all the characters on the show, it wouldn’t be such a show without cookie monster, big bird, Oscar the grouch and so on.

Embrace your inner Grover. Be a character on your blog. That character can be quiet or loud, smart or dopey, brave or cowardly. Don’t be afraid to be yourself, with all your strengths and weaknesses.

In the show a number and letter are always picked in the beginning and throughout the show that letter and number are reinterated with a different meaning or person. Use repeating information on your site or blog but in a manner that provides variety rather than boredom.
