Problem Or Opportunity?

By on June 26, 2009 in Inventions

I read today that according to the Environmental Protection Agency, American homeowners spill 17 million gallons of gasoline annually in their uncoordinated attempts to fuel lawn and garden equipment.

17 million. That’s a lot of gas!

There is also an opportunity here.

My guess is that the spillage occurs by overfilling the gas tank. So inventors out there, come up with a funnel that attaches quickly to lawn movers, weed whackers, etc. that has a float ball inside that cuts off the flow of fuel when the tank is full.

This is definitely a million dollar opportunity!

That is a very cool idea. I think also the reason for spilling gas is just possibly an unsteady hand. It’s just like when you go to fill your washer fluid…you ALWAYS spill even a LITTLE bit outside of where it actually goes…it just happens, hence where using a funnel would also come in handy as it provides a bigger opening to aim for.
