This is neat. FreePatentsOnline has launched a patent map. It is a Google Maps mashup that shows the location of over 3 million patents and patent appliactions based on the inventor’s city.
Pretty amazing to consider that my little town of Mariposa, CA (population 1,300) has 27 patents!
