Sculptor Starts Business Making Custom Dog Caricatures
Sculpt My Dog is a a company that creates one of a kind custom ceramic dog caricatures using photographs of dogs. The sculptures are commissioned works for people who desire a piece of art which resembles their dog. The caricatures are often life-size!
The artist, Susan Hershey, has been making dog sculptures for years as a hobby. She was often approached for commissioned work but was not interested in selling her work. Eventually, at the urging of her family and friends she started her new business, Sculpt My Dog.
Photographs can be mailed or uploaded on the website. The finished works are individually hand-made by the artist and take several weeks to complete. The pieces are unique and not mass produced.
