Dunkin’ Donuts Adds 24 Nontraditional Units In Sunshine State

CSP Daily News:

Dunkin’ Donuts has announced the addition of 24 nontraditional locations across Florida. On June 3, six locations simultaneously opened in Florida Turnpike travel plazas in addition to 13 locations that have recently opened at airports; nine at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, two at Southwest Florida International Airport and two at Miami International Airport. Single units are open at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and Palm Beach Community College campuses. Additional locations are planned to open at Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University by 2010.

AREAS USA Inc, owner of the concession contracts at Miami and Orlando International Airports, will operate and maintain the six Dunkin’ Donuts locations along the Florida Turnpike in Pompano Beach, West Palm Beach, Port St. Lucie/Fort Pierce, Fort Drum, Canoe Creek, Turkey Lake and Okamhumpka. Dunkin’ Donuts will replace Starbucks in all six locations.

“Dunkin Donuts expansion to non-traditional locations at airports, universities and at travel plazas throughout Florida is part of a larger plan to grow throughout the Sunshine State,” says Lynette McKee, CFE, vice president of franchising, Dunkin’ Brands, Inc. “These locations will satisfy a growing demand for high quality coffee and baked goods that are available throughout the day.”
