Mom Finds Joy In Jewelry
Q: You’re an entrepreneur at the helm of a growing jewelry business and a mom of a growing family. How do you juggle the two?
A: I ask myself that all the time. I ask other women all the time. We all come up with the same answer: We do the best we can. However for me, my daughters are my priority. I quit teaching to stay home. When they were ready to start school, this came my way. My new career coincided when Olivia went off to kindergarten.
Q: You’re a good role model for your girls.
A: I’ve always believed women should do what they want to do and not rely upon a man to do it for them. I believe in having my own credit. I bought a car and it’s under my name.
Q: What do you give up in order to have both your business and family time?
A: Being able to do everything. I don’t go out a lot. I believe in having a very close-knit, non-run-round family. I work at night. We’ll have dinner together, then I’ll take off. I don’t believe my children have to be in everything. I believe it’s more important for us to be together as a family than for them to be in every single activity. I have the girls pick one activity.
