Franchisee Andy Coombs from Hotondo Homes in Bordertown has won the 2009 Franchise Council of Australia’s South Australian Franchisee of the Year award, beating off competition in the two or more staff category from franchises including Wendy’s and Bakers Delight.
A thrilled Coombs said winning the award demonstrated the hard work put into growing his business since becoming a Hotondo Homes franchisee in 1995.
“It’s very humbling. It’s great to get recognition for me, the team at Hotondo Homes in Bordertown, as well as the entire Hotondo Homes group. It’s everyone’s award.†Coombs said. “It shows my commitment to the Hotondo Homes system which has given me the tools needed to grow the business. Since joining the franchise 14 years ago the business has grown significantly and now employs 11 staff members.â€
Coombs also believes making customer service a top priority contributed to the win. “We have a strong focus on customer service and my main business goal is to achieve the best possible procedure for the customer from the initial enquiry to the handover and maintenance of the home,†he said.
