Mom Turns 'Clean Obsession' Into A Business

KETV Omaha:

An Omaha mom is cashing in on the interest in the H1N1 virus and working to help others keep their homes as germ-free as possible.

Christine Behlen said she’s always been into sanitizing her home and has turned that obsession into a business.

“I am a sanitizer freak,” she said. “I don’t touch doorknobs, don’t touch railings, don’t touch buttons and anything I can avoid.”

Two years ago, she started cleanmoms.com, which sells all sorts of products that consumers can use to sanitize homes and offices. She said she tries every product she distributes and makes sure it works for her own family.

She said she’s seen worry about H1N1 being reflected in her sales. Just this week, a school district in Georgia bought 20 cases of a disinfecting spray from her site.

“I got my first order and wow, this is really happening,” she said. “It’s just amazing, I’m getting orders from all over the United States.”
