Tony Roma’s, the national chain that for the past decade served saucy ribs and such in Fayetteville, closed its doors last week.
Carolina Ale House is planning to open by the end of the year in a renovated version of the building that Tony Roma’s left behind in Glensford Commons.
Raleigh-based Carolina Ale House – which bills itself as “family-friendly sports-themed restaurant” with more than 40 televisions in each location – has been looking at Fayetteville for a few years, in part because of the heavy concentration of families and male diners, said spokeswoman Mindy Amerson.
There are six Carolina Ale Houses in North Carolina, plus a miniature version in Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Another is slated to open in Wilmington this year, and a rooftop location is planned for next year on Raleigh’s Glenwood Avenue.
