Fantasy Buys Get Recession Check
The recession has brought even fantasies down to Earth.
The Wall Street Journal says it’s a sign of the times that the most expensive item featured in the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog is a mere $250,000.
In years past, the catalogue has boasted a $20 million submarine and a $10 million stable of racehorses as “fantasy gifts.”
The Journal says other high-end retailers are following suit and curtailing over-the-top products and promotions this holiday season.
My favorite for this year’s over-the-top prize goes to an electric car shaped like a cupcake.

It must be pretty bad if the world of fantasy is effected by the recession. On a side note, I am not sure if that cupcake car is scary looking or intriguing.
