Collective Brands Inc. says it will begin opening Payless ShoeSource stores in the Philippines as it continues to push the value brand worldwide.
The Topeka-based retailer said Tuesday it will open five stores in the Philippines by mid-2010 with more stores later. The stores will be operated by franchisee Stores Specialists Inc., which already manages 340 stores in the country for various brands.
Payless, with 4,500 stores worldwide, already operates in 10 countries, including Canada and parts of Central and South America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
