Troubled Area Jack In The Box Outlets May Face February Auction

Jack in the Box restaurants owned by troubled businessman Abe Alizadeh could be auctioned off in February, ending months of financial turmoil for the fast-food empire he started in college as a line worker for the restaurant.

A change of ownership, whether it’s accomplished at auction or through a court-approved reorganization, should provide some stability for the estimated 4,000 employees working at the 70 restaurants from Fresno to Redding.

“A new buyer is going to want to retain every manager and employee,” said Alan Gallup, an asset recovery specialist with National Franchise Sales.
