Mary Kay Rep Starts Kits For Troops Project

NewsHerald.com:

A Bay County woman wants to help area soldiers protect their skin when they deploy overseas next month.

Kay Willard, a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant, is trying to raise about $7,300 to send a Mary Kay sunscreen kit with area soldiers from the Panama City-based Florida Army National Guard’s 1-153rd Cavalry Squadron. Willard’s son, Kyle Johnson, is a combat medic with the squadron.

About 600 men and women from the squadron are leaving Jan. 7 for Kuwait, with a departure scheduled for 10:30 a.m. from Tyndall Air Force Base, Willard said. She wants to raise $7,259 by Dec. 22, the amount she calculated would be needed to provide a sunscreen kit for every two soldiers in the squadron.

The money would go strictly toward the cost of the kits, Willard said.
