In today’s economy and market, companies big or small need to be aggressive in looking for all types of ways to extend their global reach. The upside for small businesses is that they are already a step ahead of larger companies as they are more personal and know all of their customers better than larger companies do. Open Forum suggests the following steps when extending your global reach today.
Think bigger! Rather than sticking to what you know, what you already do and the markets that you already target, try going beyond your normal routine. Look at other markets, other forms of advertising and marketing. The Internet is a great way to go global and it costs less than traveling all over the world. Get into the Internet as much as you can, this can be the key to extending your global reach.
Get into the social networks. While small businesses have not always had this opportunity, they do today and it is about time they take full advantage of it. Your social networks can open the door to amazing opportunities for you, such as more clients, customers, charity cases and more.
Forge New Alliances. Small companies are networking and forging alliances to launch joint initiatives worldwide. But you can also expect to see small businesspeople making new types of alliances with large companies, who want to leverage their spirit of innovation.

Yes it is vital thinking of potential customers from other countries. The U.S is not the only money maker in the world these days there are emerging markets such as Europe, China, and India. We as marketers need to take advantage of the potentially billions of people that live outside our borders to keep our online businesses viable. It would be stupid not to. Why limit yourself? Great article, thanks!
