Reeling In Spare Cash With Avon, Stella & Dot

KLTV 7:

2009 was by far one of the hardest year’s for the nation’s economy. With lost jobs and company cut backs, it seems these days just about everybody is looking for ways to make a few extra bucks.

We found that some East Texas women’s side businesses are paying off.

“Stella & Dot” is new to East Texas. I was the first person to start selling it in July and I now have a team of seven people working with me,” said Jewelry Consultant, Dana Leavitt.

Leavitt is a one of many East Texas women who are on the road to financial freedom.

For Dana, she’s making extra money in a stylish and fashionable way.

“Stella & Dot is a social company where we go and do private trunk shows at people’s homes and at their offices. It’s a wonderful opportunity for women, especially in this economy to be able to bring in extra money every month. They can do it as a hobby or part-time,” said Leavitt.

Avon representative, “Irene Moore” says it’s that extra money that attracted her to Avon.

Moore says it doesn’t hurt to work for is a household name.

As soon as the first two or three people found out that I was selling Avon, I went well over a hundred dollars in my first campaign,” said Moore.
