The result, he said when profiled here three years ago, is virtually maintenance-free (no dirt, weeds or subsidence) and lasts for decades. He had dreams of opening a training school, a supply centre and of franchising the business, all of which have become reality.

The franchise element operates under the Spectacular Driveways brand and has a number of major contracts, including major utility companies, local authorities and corporate and commercial customers as well as providing services to households.

“The training school has been a total success. We have trained up to 100 contractors so far with very little advertising. Trainees are able to leave the course feeling confident and able to set up their own business,” he says.

Waterhouse Mill, based in Huddersfield is now the head quarters for Spectacular Driveways. It includes a show site, the venue for training courses and a distribution centre, supplying other contractors with pattern imprinted concrete materials throughout the region. Continue reading this post.
