I have opening an online clothing company and I was wondering how to add my web address to Google. If you can help me out with my dilemma that would be great! My website is lacaclothing.com.

Google ranks websites by the number and quality of sites linking to them. Since I just linked to you, your website is now more valuable than it was before and should appear in the Google results.

Now, if you’re asking about how can you show up in Google when someone types in a specific set of keywords, like “LA Fashion,” that’s a different story. Google will combine the value that it computed earlier from the sites linking to your domain with a general idea of what your site is about, plus what the sites linking to your site are about, plus the specific text that the other sites used to link to you to come up with a ranking of the search results.

To move up the rankings, you need two things:

  1. More inbound links
  2. More content on your site

I know it’s almost sacrilege, but even in this day and age of the internet, pick up the telephone make a call. I get HUNDREDS of emails every day, but only about a dozen real phone calls. You’re much more likely to quickly get the information you need over the telephone, especially if your emails have gone unanswered.

My phone number, BTW, is 209-379-5371 if anyone wants to call me.

I am a Nigerian, and I’m into real estate business, Real estate Development. My biggest headache has been Financing. If you really know about Nigeria Business environment, you will know it’s not even advisable to approach a banl[k], for this kind of project finance.
What are your suggestions in this regard?

This is another question I receive way too often.

Unfortunately, Nigerian businessmen get a bad rap because of all of the scammy emails that originate from that country. It’s sad, but because of this, it’s hard to take serious anything a Nigerian says in an email. So, how do you counter that?

  1. First, I’d stop contacting people by email. If at all possible, use the telephone and don’t immediately announce that you’re from Nigeria.
  2. If you do have to contact someone via email, work on your punctuation, grammar and spelling. Nothing screams SCAM so much as a poorly written email from Nigeria.

Thank you for your weblog which is an inspired one to search for innovative ideas. Reading your blog I got the idea for the project.

I have a team of English-Russian and English-Lithuanian translators and the idea is to receive peoples educational videos which they are uploading on youtube or other webs. We would translate them and record translation on top of videos in order more million of people would understand those videos and get impressions.

We are still working on getting the rights from youtube or video owners to download and translate the videos. Translated videos with all the credits to the owners of video would be uploaded on our Webpage.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but how are you going to monetize it? I imagine that you’ll either get the people who own the videos to pay you directly for the translation, or sell advertising on the videos that you process. This could work for the English to Russian videos, but how many people who only speak Lithuanian and watch educational videos on the internet?

I would like to open a pizza franchisee, which on should I choose?

I have 107 pizza franchises listed in the directory. They all offer something a little different. Whatever you do, though, don’t make a decision based purely on their website. Be sure to visit the restaurant and try the pizza. After all, that’s the best part of shopping for a pizza franchise: the taste testing!

I’m with Dinair Airbrush Makeup. We have an online affiliate programs for makeup and would love to see what you think about it.

Your affiliate program looks pretty standard. Affiliate marketing is an internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. You provide banners, buttons, and text links for your affiliates to put on their websites. When a user clicks through a link on an affiliates website and purchases something, the affiliate will receive 10% of the sale.

Not a Question.

I think BOW is one of the best Business blogs ever, it’s a wonderful educational resource.

That wasn’t a question, so it doesn’t count, but thanks anyway!
