McDonald’s Corp., the world’s largest hamburger chain, said on Friday that it plans to aggressviely expand drive-through outlets and increase franchise numbers in China in years to come.
McDonald’s currently has three franchises in mainland China and just opened its 100th drive-through in the southern city of Zhongshan.
“We are not in a rush to expand this (franchise) programme,” Kenneth Chan, McDonald’s China CEO, told Reuters in an interview after officiating launch of a new marketing campaign, adding: “Franchising is part of our expansion plan.”
