DVDNow DVD Rental Machine

By on February 10, 2010 in Biz Ops

The DVDNow Kiosk is a DVD rental vending machine similar to RedBox.

DVD rental machines are very popular with consumers, but they’re still relatively new. I live in California and have only seen a couple. According to DVDNow, their primary competitor Redbox is primarily targeting the large national or regional big box stores. There are a lot of opportunities to put these machines in smaller businesses that Redbox would not consider.

Here’s a demo after the jump:

In the midwest, Redbox is at McDonalds, grocery stores, Walmart and Walgreens. Multi-national chains indeedn, but not exactly “big box” stores. Can’t imaging what they can come up with that will beat the foot traffic of McDonalds, Walmart and Walgreens.
