McDonald’s Tests Oatmeal
Want a side of oatmeal with that Egg McMuffin?
AdAge reports that the McDonald’s Corp. has begun selling oatmeal at restaurants in Baltimore and Washington, as it looks to take a page from the playbook of rival Starbucks Corp.
McDonald’s maple brown sugar oatmeal, which sells for $1.99, is topped with apples, raisins and cranberries and blended with cream.
A spokeswoman for the fast-food giant said oatmeal has been “well-received by customers,” but the chain has not decided whether it will expand the test to other markets or offer the item on menus nationwide.

I have to admit, I never thought they would try selling oatmeal. I wonder how much oatmeal is in a serving for $2. At first I thought the idea of oatmeal-to-go was kind of weird but, I have to admit, it isn’t a bad idea. Oatmeal can be very filling, the fruit and such makes it taste good, and it’s healthier than may of their breakfast sandwich options.
