I started http://GetYourBizSavvy.com because I felt like there was a need for something more for entrepreneurs. I liked other blogs/sites, but I knew I could bring another level of exhilaration and excitement to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Very often my business ideas are usually solutions to existing problems. Make sure you ask yourself specific questions about your idea

Like most new products, PictureThatSound came from my own need, a desire to add sound my photo albums and scrapbooks.
Kathy Wolper - Kathys Just Desserts on March 4th, 2010 6:01 am
I started my business over eight years ago, after two layoffs in one year. One was a layoff as a certified technical trainer for a computer sales co. that filed for bankruptcy. I was then hired to be an in-house trainer for a commercial insurance broker, but they decided we weren’t a “good fit” for each other. I took my severance, MY “just desserts” and started Kathy’s Just Desserts, Inc., less than a month after Sept. 11, 2001. I must’ve been CRAZY!! ;-) But, I LOVE what I do every day.
I conduct culinary programs for children and adults – I’m in discussions with some attorneys who are trying to get me some angel investors so I can franchise my kids’ programs. I also sell baked from scratch wedding and special occasion cakes, cookies and bars/brownies, and I have a line of handmade, homemade candies. I’ve started selling select items online, too.
When I was laid off, PA U/C contacted ME to let me know I might be a candidate for a program they were offering laid off workers who had a business idea – it was a 6-week program that taught attendees how to start/run a business, and I had to complete a business plan as part of the program. Since I always loved to cook and bake, I am a certified elementary teacher AND a certified technical trainer, and I always thought I’d love to have my own dessert business, I thought, “Why not?!” I completed the program, and I’ve never looked back. It’s the hardest but most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. I love having my own business, growing it, and thinking of creative ways to market my business and add new concepts to the baseline business.

My idea was born from necessity. I wanted a trash company to come up my driveway to get my trash and recycling from my property, next to my garage. None would. So I started my own trash removal business:

Joel Semanko- Cool Cycles Ice Cream Co. on March 4th, 2010 7:10 am
The idea came to the Founder of Cool Cycles as a result of a mistake on a sidecar motorcycle delivery from the Ural Motorcycle Co in Russia back in 1993.
He received a motorcycle with a little pick up box sidecar instead of a passenger sidecar.
As a result he thought about how practicle it was and that the Russians used this as a working vehicle to move debris and rocks etc.
He thought to himself, I could put a box to hold popsicles on it with a little music system and speaker and have a really Cool Ice Cream sidecar motorcycle.
Since then, we’ve franchised the Cool Cycles Ice Cream Co. business and now people can own a franchise to operate their own business.

One in my downline presented a new opportunity. After years of trying this one and that one, finding out flaws, business models that don’t work, scams, etc, you learn how to see an opportunity that has high success when you apply your own filters: Is it a real product or service? No competition? What probabilities of failing has the company?
So, passive income, positive cash flow from the beginning, viral, automated service to big corporations, great compensation plan …
I said yes :)

My wife passed away 13 years ago, when my current wife and I got together we had an abundance of photos/memories. I wanted to find a way to display them without looking at the same thing all the time. Picture Pages was born and the “Perfect” album was brought on after many refinements.

After working in the consignment industry for 7 years, for the industry’s largest provider of consignment software, one thing became very clear: resale/consignment stores had a difficult time finding computer techs. Those who could find a tech, had any number of issues – e.g. tech wasn’t dependable, prices were outrages, work wasn’t up to par, work was overkill, etc.
Each and every day, the support department for the company I worked for, turned away calls. All of these resale/consignment stores asked the same thing – “who do I call?” Enter: The Computer Peeps. http://www.thecomputerpeeps.com/
The Computer Peeps have a close relationship with the resale/consignment industry. The Computer Peeps know what a store needs when it comes to computers, configuration, networking, printers, etc.

My Business Idea came from seeing a need. Many children suffers from Nocturnal Enuresis and I felt the desire to find a solution that would assist children with bed wetting and help them regain their dignity back.

In 2001 we spent a lot of time searching the Internet for business opportunities. We found an ideal candidate in consignment software. There were no programs under $600 and every vendor at the time was charging annual services, add-on fees and hidden charges. We started in the business as an affiliate of a software provider. That arrangement lasted as long as it took us to realize he (yes, a one-man show) was pilfering sales (by providing us with a demo of his software with his contact information plastered everywhere). Our prospects were purchasing directly from him, so we canned him and developed our own program to become his (and every other vendor’s) competition. We lowered the initial cost to $295 and did away with annual service fees and all the fee games. In just 8 short years we have earned a reputation in our industry for honesty and fairness. In that short period of time, those who purchased our software have saved around $1.5 million in software cost. That is a significant contribution to a relatively small industry. http://www.bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com 800-775-6522
