Cutting Your Tech Bills Down

Old Romanian made phone photo credit: cod_gabriel We can all stand to save some money here and there in business today. Every little bit really adds up after a while. Cutting your bills down a little can be a great way to save some money. Most businesses don’t realize the money they are wasting on some unnecessary technology. First off, you should take a look at what you pay out for these services. You may have some overlapping services or software that you can cut out immediately. If one is doing the job correctly, why pay for more then one? Next you may want to cut out your landline phone. These landlines are becoming more and more unnecessary over time. There are so many other communication forms that are even cheaper such as Internet phone services, VOIP and even cell phone plans which employees often prefer to use so they can answer their calls when it’s convenient for them.

Another no-brainer: Turn everything off. Leaving computers on after everyone leaves wastes unconscionable amounts of electricity. It takes only a few extra seconds to turn them off before heading home. (Not your Web servers, of course!) Although this move is pretty impractical, unplugging all electronics, which still draw a current when not in use, at the end of the day could boost your savings even more–if you have the time and energy to do so.

Not only will cutting your land line phone service help cut down on your tech bills, but it can also help with business phone systems as well.
