Mom Becomes Successful Inventor
Stephanie Veve had enough of wrapping her kid’s ice pops in napkins. So she did what many have thought of, but never fully perused—she came up with a new invention. The Temecula entrepreneur and mother of three created Pop Pals.
According to Southwest Riverside News Network, Pop Pals are a sleeve for ice pops youngsters can use to coax the ice up without giving mom a mess and trouble.
I was in the kitchen with the kids one day. I grew tired of wrapping their ice pops with napkins. So, I started searching for a better way (to help the kids with their treats),” said Veve, adding that a lollipop lid inspired the original concept and sparked a year-long quest for crafting a prototype.
Now , Veve is looking at a distributorship through Keen Distribution of her Pop Pals invention to major childrens retailers nationwide –including Babies R Us, One Step Ahead, Amazon.com and Toys R Us — and turned her first dollar last month.
Veve’s advice for other hopeful inventors?
“I would say, don’t give up. Research your idea and see if it exists already. If you find that it’s not out there, I would recommend working on a homemade prototype first. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Just pick up the phone and start calling. Anyone that I have ever contacted (throughout this process), has been very helpful in leading me here,” Veve said, adding to expect numerous costs along the way.

That’s a cute idea. It’s especially handy for anyone that doesn’t like holding a cold popsicle. Around here if we are eating a popsicle then it’s so hot outside that we don’t really care how cold it feels. Although if I had something like that I’m sure my daughter would love it.

Great advise from a successful inventor. It is always nice to hear about an inventor that did not have to spend a fortune to turn their idea into reality.
