Mom Enters Consignment World

Online Athens:

As a wife and mother of four young girls ages 11 to 2, Oconee County native Chastity Shepherd considers herself an expert in children’s clothing.

Shepherd’s experience in buying kid’s apparel for her own brood and a desire to embark on an entrepreneurial career prompted her to open Butterfly Kisses, a retail consignment shop that sells children’s wear, other kid’s products and maternity wear. Butterfly Kisses, which Shepherd calls a “kids’ and moms’ resale boutique,” opened March 1 on West Broad Street in the small commercial center where McAlister’s Deli and Ruffalo Cody are located.

“I decided to go out on an adventure,” Shepherd said. “I love children’s clothing, and I feel like a connoisseur – I know good quality.”

Shepherd’s resale business carries a range of clothing sizes – from baby clothes to teen wear.
