Stop Being Annoying On Twitter

With the many people that make up the Twitter community, its not hard to find a lot of annoying Twitters on there. It’s bound to happen with such a large community and people having access to not only so many people but so many features and tools as well. Below are some great tips I came across on Open Forum that are sure to keep you away from the annoying category in peoples books.
- Stop hiding from everyone. Why be a part of the biggest online community if your not going to make yourself available and contactable.
- Don’t ignore your followers. When someone posts a question, comment or sends you an email regarding something, don’t just cast it aside like it doesn’t matter. That is one way you’ll loose some your followers.
- Never ever lie to your fellow community members. Even the smallest little white lie can be devastating to your follower base if and when someone catches you doing it.
Don’t disappear. Consistency is the key to your business’s online marketing success. Just like going to the gym, regular activity leads to results (and the good news is that you don’t have to break a sweat on Twitter, unless you’re tweeting on the treadmill, which I’ve been known to do). There are few things more frustrating than a company that is online for a few days in a row, and then disappears for a few days at a time. Think of Twitter as a series of marathons, not a quick sprint to the finish line.

When I think of annoying on Twitter I think of folks who fill my timeline with spam and vulgarity. They get voted off my timeline island very quickly.
I believe there is a fine line between too many Tweets and too few Tweets. I am glad you brought the whole idea of ignoring your followers out in the open. This is a great point. Another annoying thing folks do on Twitter is to follow someone, get them to follow back then drop them. It is a sneaky way to invade your timeline and not be bothered with yours. Quid Pro Quo? Not so much!
Great article!
