Five Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Duct Tape
A wise person once said “Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.”
Although, how much do really know about what is likely one of mankind’s most useful inventions?
Luckily, Answers.com’s huge database of knowledge revealed five things you probably didn’t know about duct tape.
1. Duct tape was invented during World War II as a water resistant sealant tape for ammunition cases.
2. The NASA manual for spaceflight operations on the International Space Station recommends the use of duct tape in case of “acute psychosis” during a space mission. Procedures call for using the tape to restrain an affected astronaut.
3. Despite being recognized for its silver color, duct tape was originally a dark olive green color.
4. The astronauts on Apollo 13 used the tape to repair square carbon dioxide filters on a failed command module. Lesson: Duct tape saves lives.
5. A 2002 study claimed duct tape could be used as an effective treatment for warts.

but what do you do with the duct tape to fix the wart?

Claire – You take a piece of the duct tape and stick it over the wart. You must leave the tape in place for a period of time (a week or so, I think) and it will kill off the wart. Or at least that is what my daughter’s pediatrician once told me.
