Have Your Cake And Eat It, Too

Business Mirror:

Sweets are a great weakness among Filipinos. Name it: ice cream, chocolates, candies or cakes, Pinoys welcome them with the biggest heart and appetite.

And many would agree that Red Ribbon’s Black Forest cake remains the standard for many bakeshops today.

According to Froilan Manotok, Red Ribbon South Luzon operations head, that particular cake is still the company’s bestseller. “That’s one of my favorites. I do not eat Red Ribbon products every day but I enjoy every time I eat them,” he confessed.

Red Ribbon already has 213 branches in the country, with more than half located in Metro Manila. Its operations are divided into North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao areas. “South Luzon is half of Metro Manila down to Bicol and Palawan. It’s part of my market [assignment],” said Manotok.

When Jollibee Foods Corp. took over Red Ribbon in 2005, there were about 180 branches. Full post.
