Solve A Problem? Live Inside It
Solving a problem is hard – but truly understanding a problem is even harder, says Josh Makower, founder and chief executive officer of ExploraMed, a medical-device incubator.
The real trick, he notes in this Entrepreneur Thought Leader Lecture given at Stanford University, is to resist the urge to latch on to the first solution that comes to mind.
Instead, live inside of the problem and analyze and understand it to the point of exhaustion.
Only then, he says, will you be able to find an end result that is able to sway customers to your company.

Insightful. One of the hardest parts of understanding a problem is taking the time to understand the problem. It would be wise to slow down a little and “live inside the problem” so that your options expand.
