My wife thinks that since the coupons typically say something like “One coupon per purchase” it is unethical to use them like in this video.
I go back and forth, but since the coupon’s rules are that of the product’s manufacturer and not the store’s, and since the store freely accepts the coupon for payment, then it’s a fair and free trade.

I’ve never thought it about it like that.

Not at all. In the past owned some retail outlets. When my suppiler started applying surcharges for fuel and other expenses to increase their bottom line I started shopping at local retailers that had what I needed, but using their coupons. It was not long before I could get everything I needed locally, and then drop my supplier, and still stay competitive.

If she made copies of coupons and used them that would be stealing but what she did in the video isn’t. That’s just being thrifty. I’m not that good but I do know it is possible to save quite a bit if you are willing to put in the time. It’s a lot of work surfing and search for coupons. Then you have to know just the right time to use them. It can also mean stockpiling (as it showed in the video). From what I’ve seen many stores cycle their deals so by stockpiling you’re able to keep enough on hand until the next sale and by then you should hopefully have a new batch of coupons as well. I would call couponing a part-time job but it’s really worth it.
