If you’ve ever been to a music festival, or see one on TV, you know that people who their children to these muddy affairs sometimes end up struggling. Twenty-four hours of music might be fun, but with a toddler, it’s easy to turn into a nightmare. British nanny Selina Cope saw this as an opportunity to start a music festival day care.
Soaked to the skin and knee-deep in mud at a music festival, Selina Cope was inspired to set up her own business.
“My heart went out to all those weary parents struggling with buggies and restless children.
“And I thought there had to be a business opportunity there,” says Selina, a nanny and childminder from North London.
So Selina, 31, asked parents if they would use a festival babysitting service if it was available.
“The answer was a resounding yes and I started to dream about a business where I could provide a childcare service.”
Two years and a mountain of work later and her dreams have come true.
This summer Boutique Babysitting has hit the festival scene with Selina and her teams keeping youngsters entertained while parents get a break.
