Herbalife India, an arm of the California-based $2.32 billion leading weight management, nutrition and personal-care company, is on an expansion mode in India.
“Lured by the Rs 600 crore energy drink market, expected to grow to Rs 1000 crore by the end of the year, Herbalife is branching out to new locations across India,†Ajay Khanna, country head, Herbalife India, told Financial Chronicle on Friday.
India incidentally is one of the top ten global markets for Herbalife, which has its operations across 73 countries with a network of over 2 million independent distributors or direct selling agents.
“As starters, we are moving into new locations like Orissa and Kerala—with new offices, new operations. We will also be expanding our current setup in Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai. We have already opened a second office in Bangalore which houses our IT operations; and warehouses in Indore and Jaipur,†Khanna said.
