Make Your Meetings More Productive

I recently came across an article located on Entrepreneur.com that spoke about how you can make your meetings more productive rather than a waste of every one’s time. Look below for some really great ideas that I think will make all of your meetings a lot more note worthy.

Make sure that the meeting has meaning to begin with. If there is something that need’s some action steps figured out with your team then that is a reason to have a meeting, but if your just sharing some little updates within the company then that can be sent in an office memo or even an email. Don’t waste your employees time if you don’t have to.

Finish With a Review of Actions Captured. At the end of every meeting, go around and review the action steps each person has captured. The exercise takes less than 30 seconds per person, and it almost always reveals a few action steps that were missed. The exercise also breeds a sense of accountability. If you state your action steps in front of your colleagues, then you are likely to follow through.

Last but not least, make sure that you ask your employees when would be a good time for them. I realize you can not accommodate to every one’s needs, but you can take a poll and ask what day and time would be best for everyone during the week to have a meeting, and then pick the day and time that is most available, this will create less frustration for everyone.
