I think it’s funny you posted this article from 2009, while ignoring the recent article http://modern-baking.com/supermarket_baking/brownie-sales-remain-flat-0610/ that claims brownies sales are flat. So I guess there isn’t a cupcake bubble, or at least- brownies won’t pick up the slack :).
