Potbelly Sandwich Shop is looking for franchisees in its first foray into St. Louis.
The Chicago-based restaurant chain has 215 company-owned sandwich shops and started franchising in October, said Mike Walters, the company’s franchise zone manager.
St. Louis is ideal because a lot of residents are familiar with the brand because they lived in Chicago or vice versa, he said.
Potbelly prefers husband-and-wife or life-partner teams because it takes two people to run the restaurant, he said. Franchisee investment ranges from $456,000 to $767,000, depending on the size and location. Potbelly examines net worth but there is no minimum requirement, Walters said.
