Two McDonald’s franchises in the Akron area recently changed ownership as one owner was looking to grow and the other looking to fund future projects.
Both McDonald’s are on Manchester Road — one in Coventry Township and the other in New Franklin. The two locations on July 30 changed ownership from McDonald’s franchise owner Rubber City McDonald’s to TomTreyco Inc.
The approximately 100 employees — the majority of whom are part-time — will get to keep their seniority, vacation and pay under the new ownership, said Tom Locke, owner/operator of TomTreyco, which now owns eight area McDonald’s locations.
Financial details of the sale were not disclosed.
