According to the CBS Business Network, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, under its new director, David Kappos, has finally begun to seriously address transparency of information with a new data visualization dashboard.

As a number of people who watch the organization have thought, for years — years — the USPTO has blown smoke and lived in a world of denial and obfuscation.
Now we’ve all got to ask the question of whether the patent system is possibly salvageable, or if the country should do something drastic like striking off entire areas, such as software, from the list of technologies eligible for patents.
